Europe and America, the two major export regions of the country, have started dreaming of a normal life because the introduction of the corona vaccine. Because of this, the purchase orders in the garment factories have increased a lot. Fantastic price and extra purchase order
The country’s exporters in relief. On the other hand, the struggle has also increased as a result of sudden growth in purchases. For this, they are seeking maximum help from the authorities and bank governments. They would like to ensure fair price of this product and retain the buyer by bringing raw substance from the air if required in time.
Qutb Uddin Ahmed, chairman of Envoy Group and former president of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), told Desh Rupantar,”Purchases from January to February Are Extremely good. The March forecast is good. So far, a maximum of 15 times might have been forecast. Now 1 month prediction is also being given. But if the current situation is preserved in April, then it may be stated that the scenario has changed. We want to wait until April.”
According to a number of exporters, Bangladesh gets a fantastic number of buys in November-January during normal times. But this time the second wave of corona hit Europe-America at this moment. The buyer states went to lockdown to take care of the circumstance. There were also lockdowns throughout Christmas and the English New Year, a couple of the biggest festivals in the Western world. Due to this the sales quantity of these buyers was very low. There is doubt about Corona’s status. This way, buyers also take time to put new purchase orders. Buyers have started to return because the vaccine was released in January. At the moment, all exporters have orders. The orders that are coming today are winter and pre-winter orders. Those that arrive in November-January are largely for pre-winter use. At present, the factories need to take extra pressure as the 2 orders of buy come together. These products need to be exported by May-August.
Nipa Group Managing Director Khasru Chowdhury told Desh Rupantar,”Even though we don’t receive the same cost as before, the purchase order is good.” However, with more purchases coming together, the battle has also improved. Even though it is late to get the purchase, we won’t find much additional time for export. So we must go into manufacturing as intended to retain the purchaser. The post-military coup crisis in Myanmar can help us raise purchases and prices. The port authorities will need to be proactive. Hopefully this season will be our turning point. If we can export merchandise punctually.’
However, the factory owners said that the new orders for internet products aren’t coming in the same way as in the new year. Producers say people couldn’t get out because of lockdowns in buyer states. Because of this, the usage of formal apparel has been quite low. Buyers also have a lot of stocks. Owen products, which are steadily decreasing, have been hit even harder. Requirement for denim is also slightly lower than normal. On the other hand, the mill owners stated that the demand for net merchandise has not decreased as they’re used all of the time.
Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, managing director of Standard Group, told Desh Rupantar,”There is less demand for ovens all around the world now. People now use more internet goods. That’s the reason why the marketplace for toaster products has been decreasing for a long time. Corona made it worse. Even then the buy order is coming. On the other hand, the price isn’t the same as before. Obviously, if you can produce quality goods, you can find some price. So We Must diversify our products.’
Meanwhile, the manufacturers of oven products have suffered somewhat due to the abrupt increase in purchases. Most of the raw materials for the product are import dependent. From yarn to cloth, most of the chemicals come from other countries including China and Vietnam. Bangladesh only manufactures goods. Many products take 5-6 months to export after getting the purchase order. This time the order arrived at least two months later than normal. But these products have to reach Europe before the start of winter. If all of the factories export raw materials in precisely the same time and boat at the exact same time, there will be a large strain. Besides, there’s a fear that the exporting nations will raise the prices if everybody goes to import raw materials together.
Abdullah-Hill-Rakib, managing director of Team Group, told Desh Rupantar: At this moment, China’s commerce is kind of closed. And a large part of our raw materials comes from China. So the biggest challenge now will be to have the ability to make raw materials on time. Should we lose this challenge then buyers can buy products from China at additional cost. If necessary, We Must export raw materials by air by reducing the profit.’
At the same vein, Fazle Shamim Ehsan, director of the International Apparels Federation and chief executive officer of Fatullah Apparels, said,”The global container crisis is now a thorn in the side of traders. When choosing a buy, you must remember the extra container leasing. The purchase order has to be taken bearing in mind the additional container rental of 40 days in 2 stages of raw material import and dispatch. Also today is the time for us to turn around. In no way could the market be ruined by excessive rivalry.’
